A piece of history, 1900-1925 that is. I purchased a collection of case metal jewelry boxes recently and I am selling them individually. Some are untouched and the lining is the original lining that would now be over 100 years old. The jewel cases were cast of a base metal and then plated with copper, gold, silver or painted with an ivory enamel.

About this box:

Jennings Brothers, a major manufacturer in art metal wares. Out of Bridgeport, CT. Produced in 1912. Originally had pink silk interior. Victorian / Art Nouveau box, Stylized Acanthus; 1914 GW Huntley.

this detail was provided in the book ‘The jewel Box book’ by Joanne Victoria Wiertella

Dimensions: 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 3 (inches)

I redid the interior of this box and created pink silk ring slits. They are not glued in they are set in loosely since the original interior was bare.

Things to call out: there is a small crack on back that is in the photographs, does not impact the function of the box.
